In our daily lives we keep track of our activities and special events with a calendar. The church throughout the centuries has also “kept track” of days and seasons with a calendar. We call this the Church Year. The Christian church structures its year around the marvelous acts of salvation that God completed for us in his Son, Jesus Christ. We are currently in the season of Lent–a period of 40 days before Easter. Sundays are not included in the 40 days, since each Sunday is a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. However, we focus on “Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). You are invited to worship with us during this holy season. Sunday services are at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Sunday School and Bible Study are at 9:00 a.m.
