The Ascension of our Lord marks an ending and a beginning. The earthly ministry of Jesus had been accomplished. Now, as recorded in the Gospels, Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission to make disciples by baptizing and teaching. Then He ascended into heaven, which He, the Son of God, had left in order to be our Redeemer. But this ending was truly a beginning, for now He would bestow great blessings on His faithful people. Jesus will return in glory on the Last Day that we may be where He is.
We will join the members of other Missouri Synod churches in the area for an Ascension Day service at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (Birch Street) in Eau Claire. The service begins at 7:00 p.m.
